Rehearsal
Friday, August 7, 2009 - The rehearsal started at 5:30 PM at the Church. Our wedding
party and family started to arrive on Thursday and over the course of the day Friday. I met the guys
at Bridal Traditions to pick up the tuxes. Brant, my dad and I just hung out in the back room waiting
for everyone to come in and try things on. Brant tried his hardest to get a date for the wedding, but
got rejected. Nick tried a different method of walking out with just his vest on, and that didn't work
either. Once everyone had stopped in, we headed over to the church.
It was kinda fun having everyone meet each other. Some of my extended family hadn't met all my friends and
some of my friends hadn't met Amy's friends yet. The nerve-racking part came when Amy and I had to stand in
front and introduce everyone, then say how we knew them, and what their involvement was with the wedding.
Once that was over, things went pretty smooth. We ran through everything once and forced Tyler to sing a little.
He just blew everyone away with how well he sang So High by John Legend. Then once we knew what we were doing,
we raced through it again, then we were off to dinner.
My parents hosted the dinner over at McKenna's Blues, Booze, & BBQ. We had brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, and
baked beans. We also had their black pea dip with chips as an appetizer. It was a lot of fun and the food was great.
Afterwards the guys and girls split up to hangout together, so Amy and I wouldn't see each other until the wedding.
The guys went to the piano bar at DJ's Dugout and the girls went across the street to Club Patricks. I got pulled on
stage by one of the pianists and made fun of with my tux t-shirt on, but it was fun.
The guys got up early to play a round of golf. Eight of us played 9 holes at Eagle Run and the girls started working
on their hair and good looks.
